A Life-Changing Experience at Cebu International Academy (CIA) That Moved My Wife to Tears

This time, we visited Cebu International Academy (CIA), a renowned Spartan English school in Cebu, Philippines.
At CIA, students of all levels, from absolute beginners to those aiming to improve their TOEFL or IELTS scores, receive tailored English instruction.

During our stay, my wife Sanae, who was a complete beginner in English, took part in the Spartan English program, attending eight hours of lessons daily.
In just 10 days, her listening skills improved significantly, and she became close friends with the teachers.

Touched by the warmth of the instructors and the friendships she built with people from various nationalities, Sanae was so moved that she literally cried as we headed back home, saying, “I wish I could have stayed longer!” :)

Features of CIA

CIA limits the proportion of Japanese and Korean students to approximately 25%, ensuring a diverse mix of students from all over the world.
While the school is extremely popular among Japanese students, often requiring a one-year wait for admission, students from other nationalities can enroll more smoothly, making this an incredible opportunity!

The culturally diverse environment is one of CIA’s biggest draws. On top of that, the accommodation is clean, meals are provided buffet-style three times a day, and there are facilities like a gym and pool, ensuring a comfortable and satisfying lifestyle during your stay.

My Own Spartan English Journey

As a teenager, I also experienced a Spartan English program in Cebu, where I improved my TOEFL score from 65 to 85 within three months. Immersing myself in English daily became second nature, and this habit helped me continue studying effortlessly after returning to Japan.
Eventually, I was accepted into a U.S. university on a full scholarship—all thanks to the Spartan English lessons.

Sanae loved her experience so much that she has continued studying English every day since we returned home, and I’m truly grateful for it.
